I want to start feeding my betta blood worms. Is it even a good idea? My fish seems to like them better than the food pellets.

Don't feed your betta every day. Really they only need to be fed about once or twice a week. Bettas have pretty slow metabolisms, in the wild they live in stagnant water and don't expend alot of energy, especially if the water is cool, like less than 80. OVerfeeding pollutes the water and kills more bettas than anything else I would guess.

Change 20% of the water per week and go light on the food. Good news is bloods are good food. Feed them a few at a time.

Fish love real food best, especially if it is still alive. Try breeding some baby brine shrimp, it is their favorite.
