ok i have asked about safe overclocking befor and the answers were mostly no there is no safe way to overclock now i dont really have the money for a 2.4 because its 300$ i want to see if i can get a 1.8 and overclock it to 2.4 or around that unless i can find a 2.4 for cheap so is there an easy way to overclock a 1.8 core 2 duo ora cheap 2.4 core 2 duo

Yeah, don't worry about it. Get the e6300 and overclock it to 3 Ghz, easy. Get good cooling if you need to.

Look on forums.extremeoverclocking.com for more help on overclocking. It's extremely easy, especially with the e6300. People have taken it to 3.6 Ghz with air cooling.

I should add as a side note that with the e6300, good RAM and a good motherboard is needed if you want to go to 3.6 Ghz. Otherwise 2.4 is a piece of cake.

If you want to overclock it that much, I would rather just get the actual 2.4 rather than paying for the overclocking.
