I'm only 17 but I was just wondering about something.

I'm 5 foot .. and halfish, and weight 92 pounds. I've always wanted alot of kids (of course when I'm older! LOL) but can I have them? Can my body handle having a child? Or will I wind up having a C-section?

It might sound dumb, but I was just wondering.
Thanks!

Its not a dumb question but every woman is different I really dont think that height or size has anything to do with getting pregnant or staying pregnant. Or having a lot of pregnancies or the way you will deliver. The best thing is to be as healthy as possible BEFORE you become pregnant and keep yourself healthy while being pregnant. That is the only advice I have for a successful pregnancy!!!!!

Size is only an issue if your hips don't spread enough for the baby to get through. You body will hold a baby just fine, the uterus is a very strong organ. If your worried, when the time comes to start trying for a baby, ask a doctor if your too small to carry a baby. But remember, your still young, you won't be 92 lbs forever. My friend is about 5'3" and 110lbs and she gave birth to a 7lb 6oz baby boy. Did fine, didn't even tear or have to have a section.
Good luck.

A few examples for you: my aunt was less than 100 lbs, and only about 4'11 and naturally carried and gave birth to my cousin at home with a midwife (this was 30 years ago in a rural area) and he weighed 14 lbs at birth!!!! An inlaw of mine is also less than 5 ft tall, and has had 3 kids. So beleive me, height has nothing to do with it!

I have a good friend who is about 5'6, but she is SUPER skinny for her height. Many people think she's anorexic (I can promise she's not, lol). She has had 6 kids! All of them natural (no c-sections). So I really wouldn't worry. But if you really want to know, you might want to ask your OB/GYN the next time you have a pap (which if you've had sex, you should be having yearly).

I had my 1st child at the age of 17
I was 5' 2" and weighed 100 lbs.
My daughter was 8lbs. 3 1/2 oz. at birth.
My pregnancy went very well.
And, the birth was easy (for me, at least). No comps at all!
Completely natural and drug-free.

Remember,........ it's got a lot to do with your genetics.

Yes, you can have children. A friend of mine was 97 pounds before her pregnancy, and gave birth naturally, she didn't loose all the weight, but she is still very healthy, probably weighs 110. Honestly she looks healthier then she did before.

You should be fine to have babies...just because your petite dosen't mean your body will act any different than a women who is 5 foot6 and 130 pounds.

My aunt is 4'11" and her and my uncle have 5 children all of which she gave birth to herself.. Being short doesnt mean you will have complications with pregnancies or birth..
