Why are people so sadiistic?! If the snorer could stop, he would. Nobody goes to bed at night and thinks, "Aha, I'll snore tonight and make everybody else in the house lose sleep -- what fun"! All the nasal strips did for me was to make my nose very sore -- the snoring continued.
If snoring is really loud and disruptive, chances are good that it is caused by a condition called sleep apnea, which MUST be taken seriously. Untreated sleep apnea not only stresses both the snorer and everyone else in the house who can't get a good night's sleep, it can also lead to heart malfunction and death! And, contrary to popular belief, many people have this condition who are NOT overweight.
Apnea is easily treated with the use of a night-breathing aid called a CPAP. You must see a sleep doctor before you can get one, as they have to be individually adjusted, but most insurance covers the cost. CPAP eliminates snoring 100% and keeps the heart from being damaged. Surgery is very rarely used to treat apnea, as the success rate is not that good.
Please ask your husband to get his doctor to refer him to a sleep doctor or sleep clinic ASAP. These facilities often have a long waiting list, and procrastinating can really damage his health. Do it right away. And enough with the pillows, hot sauce, etc - IT'S NOT HIS FAULT; IT'S A MEDICAL CONDITION, NOT A MORAL FAILING!

If he sometimes appears to stop breathing for a while as well as snoring, he should get checked out for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
I have it and now have to sleep with the help of a machine and it all started with my snoring driving my wife mad.
Unchecked it can eventually cause complications that can be fatal. Be safe.

Send him to his doctor along with a complete description (written down; hubby can't describe his snoring; he was asleep while doing it) of exactly what it sounds like. He may have a dangerous condition known as "sleep apnea" that can be treated. How dangerous is sleep apnea? It can lead to heart disease and death.

As much as you have the urge to slam a pillow over his face or stick a cork in it.
this may not have very good result lmao
have him go to the doctor and get tested for sleep problems, they will give back the test results
he will most likely get a sleep machine that goes on like a mask
it works wonders I promise

There is a weird plastic thing that fastens to the nose, which should stop the snoring. But it is pretty sore to wear.
I usually dig my other half in the ribs and get him to roll on to his side. : )

It doesn't mean anything. I hug a pillow every night to go to sleep, and have since I was a child.

you can buy those strips to go over his nose to open the airways. I usually hold my husbands nose until he is forced to breath through his mouth. I then roll him onto his side
