What are events after WWII that could have caused a WWIII?

Okay, I have a project that asks for some events that could
caused major conflict after WWII.

Not in the present, but I guess any where from immiedtaly-40 years later, and for the people who tell me to "do my work"
I have to explain it, but I lost the sheet w/ events to pick from :'[

The Russians creating the Berlin wall. Which split Germany into 2 Parts, East and West.The Russians didn't give back any of the countries they supposedly liberated of the Germans. Like Polland, Romania, Hungary, Etc. West Germany was cut off from aid and The United States had to airlift supplies in .
The Cuban missile crisis, The Russian's were helping Castro build missile sites in Cuba, just 90 miles from Florida. Kennedy responded by creating a naval blockade of Cuba. there's a good book and movie called 13 days in October which shows how close we came to Nuclear war.

When after WWII? IMMEDIATELY, or like, 20 years later? Or 40 years later? Immediately, Some Americans wanted to keep going through Germany and into Russia, to knock out the Soviet Union...

The Cold War was made worse by World War II. Stalin made some promises and then backed down on those promises later on.

His take over of Germany raised some eyebrows and eventually led to the Berlin airlift.
