A popular radio show was that of Bob Hope, weekly. It was in the evening, after 7 pm. It was sponsored by Pepsodent toothpaste "You'll wonder where the yellow went when you start using Pepsodent!" Bob Hope provided full employment for singer Francis Langford. One of his foils was Jerry Colonna. All comedians in those days had their own announcers, but I forget whose was Bob Hope's.

radio shows would be jack benny show, bob hope and the green phantom. Musicians would be glenn miller band, satchmo, duke ellington and frank sinatra. Movies, look on line.

nope, but i can tell you (dreaming of) a white christmas by Frank Sinatra (1944) was the most popular song.
