when NC had a 10 point lead with 5 minutes to go, they were throwing up a barrage of 3s without passing the ball and working the clock; the first player to get the ball would dribble a few times and then throw up a bad shot; they did that often enough to blow the lead and eventually lose their momentum; I believe that is dumb and selfish basketball; does anyone agree or disagree?

They didn't use their options that's for sure. I didn't see them drive once in the last fifteen minutes of the game. I personally think they lost because of lack of heart. They just plain gave up.

During the latter half of the second half, their defense was poor and they weren't ALLOWED good shots. They had some open looks and missed them. Georgetown capitalized. As for the guy talking about the officiating... UNC got more than enough favors, including the 2nd on Hibbert, in the first half. By the second half, Georgetown had nothing to lose. They had foul trouble across the board and played like there was no tomorrow. UNC played like they had a lead and wanted to protect it. Once it evaporated, I think it took a little of their confidence away and it didn't take much to kick the other leg out. The turning point, for me, was when they were up by ten mid through the 2nd half and failed to nail a three while Hibbert was out and Green wasn't doing much. That would have gone a long way to sucking the wind out of Georgetown. The bottom line is, it should never have gotten to overtime and, once it did, it was over before it started.

Not stupid selfish basketball, but rather an inability to work the ball into their strength. I think that as a team they were all trying to win the game, but their focus seemed to slip away from the team concept. But when everyone goes cold, as in USC's loss to NC, UCLA's to Florida last year, Oregon's failure earlier today, and UNC's defeat by Georgetown, it becomes impossible to win.

Yes I do think selfish b-ball did make them lose. I was really hoping for NC to go all the way and again like 2005, win the NCAA National Championship.

What up Kart, i'd say no there's no longer a contest between the two faculties. they're the two very historic courses who're fairly touted and maximum surely the two have performed one yet another on numerous occassions although that is been too some years by way of fact they have performed one yet another in March (contained in the Tourney). and there is no long-contract the place the communities play one yet another on a each year foundation- so pondering contained in the final numerous a protracted time we may even see them play one yet another each 3 to 5 years- and a few of those contests have not been "classics" that's stressful to describe it as a contest. No not really. Gtown was just more hungry than my tar heels. they wanted it more so they took it. if the tar heels wanted to win they would have done what they had to do to win but it was ovious that gtown wanted it more so the i say hey tar heels better luck next year. well even tho i love the tar heels i did have them at least in the final four. my brackets are shot to pieces with the lost of unc and kansas but florida is still in it and i pick them to make history.

No, Carolina got screwed because the refs wouldn't call any fouls in the second half. Hansborough was hammered twice in the OT. Once it was a no call, the other time it was a jump ball. It is obvious the officials and the NCAA want Georgetown in the Final Four. Green walked in his game winning shot against Vandy...even CBS said so, yet their was no call. Georgetown...straight thug, no fouls when they counted down the stretch.

I do agree the shot at the end was dumb. Why the long 3?

It always happens that way, a team gets a big league and then they start doing things which causes them to lose.
