personally i like the PS3

the PS3 is a much better piece of hardware; a true next generation gaming machine. The Wii is being marketed as a next gen console when it in fact is not.
No HD support (video or sound), no dvd playback (480P or HD) and the awkward control scheme you are stuck with. Most people simply cannot see past the price tag of the Wii, buy one, and talk themselves into thinking it is the best gaming console out there. In reality they just paid 300 dollars (250 + tax +game) for Playstation 2 caliber hardware with motion sensing controllers.
The novelty of these controllers will wear off quickly and end up being frustrating to most gamers and they could have bought a PS2 for 129.99 in most stores now.
Most people just don't know enough about the hardware to see past the price tag.

you cannot compare the 2, they are both entirely different systems...the PS3 is built around graphics and the Wii is built around online interactivity and a realy cool/wierd controller.
Nintendo has many games and genres that are pretty much unique to nintendo consoles and the way you play the games on the Wii is totaly new and unique
The PS3 on the other hand is just a graphics superbrute capable of churning out awsome graphics quality but it shares many titles with that of the 360 (which will become more obvious once more titles are released for it)
basicly they are uncomparable as they are 2 very different machines

if ur a hardcore gamer like me than get the ps3, but if u just wanna have fun with ur friends and family and like to move around a little while playing then go for the wii. Its really up to you as to what kind of console is best for you, but if u want my opinion i would go for the ps3

PS3 hands down, even the specs don't matter, PS3 will have more games, better games and lots of unique titles to die for.

wii has(or will soon) more exclusive and fun games. ps3 has awesome graphics but the sixaxis controller isnt that great. my opinion is wii.

ps3 is more for people who like to play alone and more advanced gamers but the wii is for any one and more fun to play with people and its cheaper
