Okay, some other topics ...
military - who was in it, what do they fight for, how often did they win or lose?
art -what sorts of things were depicted in art? How?
everyday life - how did the average person live?
poverty - how did they become poor? how did they live? what did they eat? could they get out of it? how were they treated?
music - what musical instruments did they have and what did they listen to?
clothing - what did they wear, at work, during the day, during leisure and at night?
foods - what did they eat/ how much did it cost/ what was good and bad for them in their diet? where did it come from?
money, how it is acquired and how it is held onto
sports - what games did they play?
leisure - what do people do when they are not working?
women - what do they do, how are they treated?

Social system (caste, fiefdom, lower class, middle class). Also consider Military.
