Erin my dear, you are 100% right!!! Edwards made his living as an ambulance chaser and can be blamed for the higher cost of healthcare now. His frivolus lawsuits against doctors had them raise their (the doctors') medical malpractice insurance. Edwards speaks about one thing and does something else. My my, what a classy man.

No, perhaps I'm not as cynical as I believe I am, but I don't sense that from him. To me smarmy better describes a man like Dick Cheney. I don't care for Edward's style, and I used to believe he was phony. I watched him do an hour on Hardball's College Tour and I came away still not caring for his views, but with a sense that he was more sincere than I had ever given him credit for. I think his tight family unity is probably as it seems. Elizabeth Edwards is a strong woman, not just a wife and mother, but a successful lawyer in her own right and I do believe she cares more for her husband and children than she does herself. She may be the light they all are guided by and if so, he will do what she thinks is right. I don't plan to vote for Edwards, and I don't think he'll get the nomination, but I think he's probably a very decent man.

Have any of you ever listened to the man??? Didn't think so... To even suggest anything about his wife's health problems is really cold and heartless. Actually his wife is very well respected in all forums and she will be a plus to him no matter her condition.. Heck she's not hospitalized or even will be for probably many years..... Don't talk before you have the facts and stop watching Fox News as they have nothing good to say about anyone except the man who is destroying our country right now..

Actually, John Edwards has proven to be one of the most decent people in national politics. He is not for sale and, of equal importance, he's a moderate in a time when we need all the moderates we can get.
As to his wife, it was her decision that he stay in the race. And just because she has breast cancer doesn't mean she's dying of cancer. It just means she has breast cancer. A large percentage of women with breast cancer survive.

I don't understand the decision either, but it seems to be what she wants. She doesn't want him to have regrets. Yes this cancer will kill her eventually, but she wants to see him become president. Lets see how this plays out before a rush to judgment.
