I say yes because it bounce back after the Reagan/Bush travesty. But it will take somebody with the intelligence of Bill Clinton to be able to turn the country around and get it back in the right direction.

If you think this is a challenge for our democracy than I would pick up a history book. We have been through a lot more as a people and survived. Civil war, world war, a depression, etc. I think your a liberal whose just made because your not getting your way. A spoiled adult brat. Sorry, but its sounds that way. Whose dream are you talking about? Yours, because it doesn't sound like mine. My dream is to leave a stable, better middle east for my kids.(Bush is trying to do that.) My dream is to get as many people working as possible (we have incredibly low unemployment). I could go on, but my main point is stop being so pessimistic and open your eyes. Things are pretty damn good and will only get better. Now is not the time for radical, looney leftist ideology.

We are headed back to a system like Victorian England, a small, uber-wealthy, elite ruling class and a large, powerless working class. The goal of the Conservatives has always been to destroy the "meddlesome" middle class.

Democracies always die violently. What we need to do is bring this nation back to a Constituitional Republic.
