Im really strong and not fast but I can catch..
The 5'8-5'9s and my school are either wide receivers or cornerbacks...a 5'5 dude plays JV and is a corner back impressive.. is 5'8 too short for a tight end or Ssafety?
I weight 165 lbs 5'81/2(15 skipped a grade, n i might grow taller)I can bench around 180. 40 yrd 4.8-5.0...not good..
what positions? is SS okay?( im not sure il grow anytaller because the average height for an asian male is 5'8 im asian.)

Barry Sanders, Steve Tasker, Maurice Jones Drew, just to name a few really good NFL players who were 5ft 8in or less. That's a bit short for a tight end, but I was 5ft 4in in HS and played strong safety for 2 years, starting one. I had a growth spurt and grew to 5ft 6 in the 2nd year and that made me better but I also put on some muscle and could hit harder. How much heart you have, and how willing you are to work your butt off is a better way to gauge what kind of a player you would be.

running back its a good option for your size . Just need a Lil more body mass try gaining about 10 more pounds on you if not maybe u should go with wide reciver even as short as you are you your speed can be used for short passes and you would be the first option for a first and fast gain of yards,

It is too short for tight end but perfect for being a safety if you are kinda fast and can hit hard

What position???? It usually depends on position. I personally, dont think of football as your height meaning if you are good or not. I just think it is all about your skills.

Now, basketball is a height sport.

SS might be the best choice since your speed won't play much of a factor there...i would probably stay away from offense unless you put on some weight and moved to fullback

180 bench isn't that great cause im 5'9" 155 and i can bench 210. just play receiver because its easier than playin corner or safety because you have to be faster. if ur a TE or receiver you really don't have to be as fast. (Well, at least in high school)

Nope, Darrent Williams(RIP) was in the 5'10's and look how great of a corner he was.

i would work on speed if even remotely thinking of college football. special teams would suit you fine.

not for high school but give it your best. you should work on speed and since you allready have a good upper body i would not worry about that part.
