What do you think about when your child or anyone elsed child is watching shows like family guy or south park teching and showing your young child what a prostution is or drugs. Violence to the extreme cartoon shows that not only push the limits but sets a trend so following shows and do worst.
Next the power rangers are gonna have sex, drugs and etc.
Not just targeting just south park and family guy a lot of other shows to which are geared for Youth.

My stance is, there is a lot of dreck out there, and a lot of so-called artists and writers that have decided to cater to the lowest common denominator rather than write and draw the best they can. In my opinion, the best characters are the heroes like Superman and Captain America, who are shining examples of goodness and morality in addition to being so tough and strong. Batman is also up there, if they do not cast him too much as ‘grim and gritty’. Frank Castle (the Punisher) crosses the line, he is not a hero, just a vigilante with lots of guns. The Hulk is not a hero, he is just a guy with super anger management issues. You get the idea.
My answer concentrates heavily on comic book superheroes, but that’s my specialty.
Which ones inspire you to be the best that you can be? There’s your answer.

You can shelter your children only up to a point. If you wish them to be functional adults in society then you won't do them any good by shielding them from sex, violence, etc. It's your duty as a parent to explain to your children about the differences between reality and fiction. Ask their opinions about these issues and raise them as best as you can. Children, as a whole, have been forced to grow up at a much earlier age. This is simply a fact. Help them to navigate through the pitfalls that this entails.
If you want my opinion why this has happened I believe that it's pretty straight forward. Sex and violence are easy selling points for ad companies. Money drives it all. And young adults have enormous buying potential. As long as that potential is there they will continue to use the same strategies. Just my two cents.

One thing you must understand that animation is not inhernetly a children's medium. Many adults maintain an interest in it, and want it to present adult themes. The Power Rangers are not going to be having sex because that series, both in it's marketing and time schedule is clearly intended for children.
Just as you would not expect all live action to be for children you should not expect all animation to be.

Discovery Kids is good. also some Cartoons on Cartoon Network like Scoobey doo are innocent still. My kids don't watch all that karate mambo jambo. It's retarded anyway.
Nothing Like the super heroes...Batman, Superman, etc
or didactic cartoons.
