I've been a Mets fan for 25 yrs. and I just turned off the tv when I heard Jim Duquette (Mets GM at the time) had traded away Kazmir. All we ever heard was how Kazmir was going to be a cornerstone of the future and then he gives him away for an injured bum. My dad is a Mets fan also and he remembers the Mets trading away Nolan Ryan back in 1970. I guess the Mets never learn.

Yes indeed, it was a terrible trade. Every franchise is guilty of them. On the plus side the Mets got John Maine for Kris Benson. Okay, Maine's not as good as Kazmir, but you gotta look for the positives in life! :-)

It makes the Mets look very dumb.They traded one the the best prospects for some guy who lasted 2 years winning what,15 games?

I said "what the ***" when that trade went down. I believe he would be #2 starter behind vertern SP Glavine, but probably will have better numbers than Glavine. We may lose the division to the Phillies cause of that trade.

I miss the K Kid, he wouldve fit in good. I think we could get him back if we trade the devil rays some minor leaguers and a couple of draft picks.

I guess you cant miss him that much since he never actually pitcher for us. But damn it would be nice to have him, that was the worst trade the Mets have made since trading Nolan Ryan.
