the 4 torque converter plate bolts. Should just pull staight out? Right? What my problem here. I dropped out the tranny due to my upper seal leaking.

It could be just stuck.Try putting a pry bar between the fly wheel and converter and putting a little pressure on it.But be careful and not poke a hole in the converter.

It should slide out when pulled by hand. Does it turn? If it doesn't the front pump bushing/converter hub are frozen, and it's likely more feasible to get another trans.

you removed the bolts or nuts and the converter is stuck to the fly wheel?
or is it stuck in the transmission?
