but want to watch something on sky can you borrow a friends sky card without having to change anything on your box

Your card is matched to your box which is matched to your subscription and while it may work for a while, it will soon fail.

no the sky card is mached to the box. however if you ask the sky to link the card to the box that you are using saying the previous box is not working and they programe it to your box. It will work then on both boxes(one at a time whichever has got the card in)

It might work for a while buy if its connected to the telephone line and it does a callback to skys computers(usually every 6months) it will realise that the card doesnt match the box and it will stop working. If its for one day it might work but you wont get any premimun channels like sports or movies becuase they are activated for your box.

No as an earlier answer rightly points out the card is associated with the box. That's precisely the reason its setup like that.

no card only works on that box youd have to borrow the whole box

doubt it very much, sky are very vigilant, best to watch it over your friends house, much safer for you.
