They fly around our carport and you can not get outside for them.

If they are eating into the same wood every year spray the wood with liquid Sevin before they show up. Enough residue will be in the wood that as they eat and chew the wood the poison will kill them.

They're just wood bees... they hover around all menacing-like but they're not going to do anything, just don't swat at them.

I've tried covering the holes with tape (doesn't work) plugging them with aluminum foil and covering them with tape (doesn't work all the time) haven't tried the liquid sevin.... that'd probably do it, but I tend to try to coexist.

Plug all the holes where they can live. Spray bug spray on them..
