Intellectual statements are merely a perspective determined by the intellect of the reader.

P.S.
BTW Daves answer has been the cornerstone of ad media for several decades. The politicians have leveraged public opinions to create conditioned responses ever since.

Stop and smell the roses.
I've read quite a bit of good writing in this section this evening, but not all "answers" have to be wordy. There are more than a few pithy one-liners that speak volumes if you're not too impatient to notice.
It's like rap music: Crude on the surface, just like the culture from which it comes, but there is soooo much between the lines that will never be detected by the average intellectual, and the artists like it that way.
When ideas are expressed in a grammatical form that can be dissected and tinkered with, they may lose their integrity quickly. Succinct, metaphorical observations are often more resistant to over-intellectualization.
Ditto on the Regression Analysis answer. Perhaps we can introduce our politicians to this concept.

How about this.... research that has been performed on psychosocial issues during the past 30 or more years has been primarily done using inexact and misleading univariate statistics that result in Type Two Errors. This has lead to authors making serious errors in their research conclusions where they assume that they have valid verifiable results that should instead be attributed to pure random chance. The trend hopefully will be a continuation of researches being more knowledgeable about statistical techniques so that they will utilize methods of regression analysis that will show which variables show significance due to chance and which variables truly can be said to contribute to prediction of outcome.

In other words, most researchers on psychological and social issues are idiots, and their research is garbage.

These are my words, and I wrote them in response to your question. I hope it is intellectual enough for you. I have doubts that more than a few people on Yahoo Answers, if any, will be able to understand it.
