Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

The most meaningful moment in my life was the moment I finally figured out that life is lived in the moment, not in the plan or dreams for the future. I used to think when this happened or that happened then life would be great. I used to think that in the future life would be wonderful, when my dreams came true and all of my problems ceased.

Then it was, only a year ago, that I suddenly realized that I didn't want life to pass by. That life is included in each and every struggle and challenge. I wanted to live life so I embraced each moment, good and bad, knowing that that second that I lived, I was farther away from the grave rather than wishing for tomorrow when I was that much closer to the grave.

I've had a few. Having my first poem published. Buying my house, by myself (the scariest thing I ever did). Climbing a mountain in Bavaria. Watching the sun rise in Algonquin. Singing my songs for strangers & hearing their applause. Selling my first painting. Moments when I was moved by the beauty of nature. Moments when I was filled with hope & aware of my own power. Moments when I realized that life is beautiful & that I can leave my own mark on the world.

The most meaningful moment of your life is when your heart is filled with love & you realize what a precious gift this life is.

The most meaningful religious moment in MY life was when I finally realized that I didn't need religion any more. Whew! What a difference THAT made in my life! I feel MUCH better now!

The most meaning moment of my life is when I finished my first book in October. Not just because I accomplished something that so many people were awe stricken about but becuase it had been a long time since I accomplished something truly great. Also, because in this book I really put in a part of myself. This book was my conversation with all those I love, did love and will love. It was me letting everything out. It was great.

Oh my god! I am so embarassed about what im about to say. its so cliche.

I was walking one night and i met a man on the street while i was walking home. We talked about the olympics, it was really nice. Nothing out of the ordinary. But as i got to my door i heard this voice inside my head say "that person is going to be very important in your life". I wanted to run back and talk to him. I didnt. Instead i ran into him at the pool the next day. We have been together from that day on.

It was them most meaningful moment in my life cause it was what i needed to change my own focus and goals. My relationship has brought me closer to god and nature, and definately closer to the woman i want to grow into.

Cheesy i know....
