*depressing
My Chemical Romance loves to talk about death, in fact they're fascinated on the topic of death. They even have a member whose birthday is on Halloween so he is obsessed with Halloween. So, basically this band has a fascination with death so, therefore, they're going to sing about it, and be about it.
If you're not into My Chemical Romance, you should try finding bands that are more pop/rock. Such as: Relient K, Cartel, Mika, Hilary Duff, The Veronicas, Panic! At The Disco, Hellogoodbye, and Fall Out Boy.
Those bands are sure to keep you happy, so next time you're looking for bands that have happy songs, don't go for a band that is fascinated about death! :]
By the way, I'm a big fan of My Chemical Romance! ^_^

yes but all of My chemical Romance's albums are CONCEPT albums (music that tells some sort of story).....I have all three no not all of their songs are depressing but most are to some people and its not because their ''emo'' or trying to be ''hardcore'.' What these dudes went Though is really quite sad. I was shocked when I found out what cemetery drive was about, One of Gerard's closest friends committed suicide with a shotgun in a bathroom right after he left to go on their first tour. Then not long after that his grandma died of cancer, THEN his dad got cancer (this is where they get their obsession with death from) and while all this was going on he was addicted to antidepressants and drunk all the time. which made him very suicidal but he is over that now .(clean and sober) famous last words is one of the optimistic songs about moving on. very good song

I really don't know how to answer that one. I love My Chem, and I really don't find theur music depressing. Although, I can see where you get that. Most, if not all, of their lyrics are dark, and very emotional. However, that's what I love most about their music, it seems as if they're writing from experience, and their lyrics are real. That being said, if it's more up-beat songs you're looking for try "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" or "Welcome To The Black Parade"

Not all their songs are depressing, they really make you think... About saying goodbye, about life, and death, revenge and pain... Well if you read the lyrics, you'll find deeper meanings in them... But if you want a very un-depressing song... FAMOUS LAST WORDS would be pretty good... It talks about living and being unafraid, it's pretty upbeat and more straight-up rock... It's a very inspirational song really...
Their music is inspirational and helps me go through problems...

if you listen to the lyrics properly, none of their songs are depressing. Just listen to the songs while reading the lyrics sheet. You'll see what I mean.
