UNKNOWN GAME 1
My friend can only recall the following specifics of an arcade game she played around 1991:
o There was fighting (not so much 'adventure')
o Viking characters
o Axes were thrown
o A dragon?
o Side-view
o 2D
o Coin-fed arcade game
o Popular among college students at U. of Florida (Gainesville) in 1991
I've looked through the offerings on MAME32 and hunted a few arcade retrospective websites, but none of the gameplay or screen shots looked familiar to her.
Any suggestions?

Again, MAME was too laborious to search through, and I have too few clues to do a decent Web search.

YES! The first game most definitely was Golden Axe. THANK YOU!
However, the 2nd game is still a mystery ... my friend thinks the characters (men) may have stood atop SEMI trucks and fought there. As of 3/26/07 none of the suggested titles for this game was correct. (But again, THANKS FOR TRYING!) I'll add more details as they surface.
