How would you react if the Philidelphia Phillies won the World Series in 2007. The last time the Phillies won the World Series was in 1980 and the last time they were the National League Champions was in 1993.

I lived in South Jersey for most of my life. Although a Yankee fan I always rooted for the Phillies. I actually picked the Phillies to win the NL Pennant. My wish would be to see both the Yankees and the Phillies meet in the world series. Whatever the outcome I don't think I'd be too disappointed if the Phillies won.

I would be mildly surprised. They are a great team, but their time is in years to come. They do not have the overwhleming presence in the NL East as the Mets and Braves do. Obviously, the NL is a weaker league all together than the AL, and if you are not the absolute best in the NL it is a long shot you have a chance to win the World Series. Ryan Howard has created a lot of hype, but he can't lead the Phillies to the World Series. He may have Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Pat Burrell, etc. But, name 5 solid pitchers that can carry that team when they are not up at bat. The Mets are currently having some pitching issues, and that is their major issue, as with most MLB teams, but they generated, I believe, the most run support or nearly the most run support in the MLB to support their pitchers.

I'd be slightly disappointed that the World Series wasn't a rematch of 2004, and slightly more disappointed if Philadelphia defeated Boston or Oakland.

If Philadelphia faced any other AL team in the World Series and won, I'd probably throw a quiet party (does such a thing exist, or is that the ultimate oxymoron?) in celebration of Ryan Howard catching Albert Pujols (and surpassing the combined total of Carlos Zambrano and Mike Cameron) in the most important baseball statistic (World Series Championships).

HAHAHA!!!!

you are joking right? The Phillies have a total of 3 players in their everyday lineup that SHOULD be in their everyday lineup. I mean I can't even name they're right fielder or 3rd baseman...Delucci has a lot of heart but that doesn't make up for his lack of star talent. Burrell is incredibly overrated and Lieberthal's replacement is....who?

They've got a lot of starter's and yet they still are in need of starting pitching. Eaton can't stay healthy, Moyer is over 40, Garcia needs to show he can be consistant.

While the Mets have no pitching they have a better offense, the Braves have both a better offense and better pitching, the Marlins have a lot more young talent and showed they could be competitive. I'm, honestly, not sure that they will finish in the top 3 of the East, let alone the World Series

I think that the Phillies are gonna be a very good team this year and the Mets better look out or they will be looking up at the Div. winner the Phils, being a Cardinal fan I know what they can do.

I truley respect your desire to see your team win the world series BUT if they face My team in the Fall classic they will go down... That being said It would be pretty cool to see the Phils in it again..... I am sure that the GREAT players of the Phillies past would be celebrating as well!!!!

As a life long Phillies fan, I would fall the hell out of my chair and finally let the whole Mitch Williams thing go.

I would probably be drunk for a week straight and stumbling down broad street for the long awaited parade! If we can find some bullpen help and the offense stays healthy, it isnt a real long shot to see our Fightin's actually play some October baseball this year. See you at the ballpark on opening day! Go Phils!

First, I'd wonder why in the world people would be calling the Tigers the Phillies because we all know Detroit are going to take it.

I would say good for them and lament the fact that it wasn't my Red Sox celebrating.

The Phillies certainly have the talent this season to make the playoffs, and maybe even win the whole thing. It's not like they're the Devil Rays or the Cubs.
