At 19 weeks it will feel like a muscle spasm more than a "kick". And it would be alot lower than your ribs.

Isn't it a wonderful feeling? That little precious life moving around, I tell ya there's nothing like it. Babies actually start moving around when you're three months along but they are too small for you to feel it yet! You're now coming into the months where you'll now feel it. For each woman, the sensation may feel a little different. For me, it felt like a little butterfly.......like a fluttering tickle. Mainly when you feel these movements, it's the arms or legs kicking out. You could feel it underneath your ribs, certainly. The baby wouldn't be kicking as high as you might think. She or he is floating around in the amniotic fluid, attached to the umbilical cord. When the baby happens to kick when it floats upward toward your ribs, then you'll feel it there. But sometimes the baby will float downward, more toward your ovaries then you'd feel it there.
Just give it some time and you'll probably feel those little kicks everywhere! I'm so happy for you, hope your pregnancy goes well. And I understand being a new mom so if you have any other questions we can help you with, just ask! Take care.

I'm not sure, i felt my baby's kick mostly in the 2nd trimester and third, but during that time each pregnancy had it's own unique spots, 2 of which loved under the ribs , i know the anxiety of waiting for those first kicks is crazy, and then you are never sure if it really was a kick, it will not be long before you will know for sure, sometimes you can see a foot or hand impression in your skin, my first was like that, he was a madman
no one can say for sure what you are feeling but it could be

I think you're feeling the baby kicking! It often feels like fluttering, and where the kick depends on the baby. It's the best feeling, and the further on in your pregnancy, you'll get better at recognizing what's a kick and what's not.
Since you have a lot of questions (and who doesn't in their first pregnancy?!), I would recommend buying the book What to Expect When You're Expecting. I had my first baby last October, and that book was a godsend for me.
Good luck and congrats! :-)

Congratulations! My son is 5 yrs old and I still remember feeling the movements for the first time. You are definitely far enough along to feel movements, and actually the baby sits higher at moments of pregnancy and drops down preparing for labor later on in pregnancy. You need to get the book "what to expect when you're expecting." It tells you month by month info, answers very common questions and goes over different scenarios that you may be experiencing. This was literally like the bible to me when I was pregnant. It literally goes over EVERYTHING as well as eases fears and prepares you for what comes next. According to this book, you can start to feel movement (flutters, pulses, nudges..however you want to describe it) as early as 14 weeks, especially if you're thinner. Savor these moments because movement from the baby proves everything is going perfectly well!! Good luck!

No, that's not a bad question. Congratulations on your first pregnancy!!! 19 weeks would be just about right for a first-time mom to feel the baby kick. It could be anywhere. Isn't it awesome??? The kicks will get stronger and stronger... and then you'll see them! That's the BEST (other than holding your little one!) Best of luck to you!!!

The baby may be punching instead of kicking. at 19 weeks the baby should be almost like standing. so there should be no kicking by the ribs. the baby could be punching. try to talk to your doctor or the place you go to get X-rays of the baby. see where to baby is positioned. best of luck with the first. ⥠⥠â¥

I have been pregnant twice. Once with twins. It`s likely that what you are feeling is kicking. The baby is continuing to move constantly. The best way to describe the first few kicks is like "butterflies" more of a fluttering.
Congratulations & Good luck.

Congratulations! At 19 wks you would feel the baby kick in your lower abdomen. I have four children and I don't think that you can feel the baby move that high this early in pregnancy. Good luck!

actually it is possible i was going over everything i read and i thought it took e longer but i was at week 19 wheni felt the baby move. it is possible because your baby can ove around in the womb so maybe its just where the baby was. your uterus sits around your beely button at this point i believe it i think your feeling the baby.
