Would it be wise to purchase a Chrysler 300 if Chrysler may be sold in the near future?

The fear is that replacement parts and repairs may cost too much with the Chrysler brand being sold to another automaker

would gm still be able to service it if i bought before the buy out

no, because the chrysler 300 is made with a mercedes E320/E350 engine.....the rights of the engine belongs to daimler, not chrysler

so as the car is sold, the rights to the engine is not

plus, ive herd storys about the unreliability of the car

if youre gonna buy the 300, get the hemi, at least you know it will be serviced in the future

I hate to date myself, but in my lifetime many car makes have disappeared altogether or absorbed by another company and disappeared. For example, when Studebaker ceased automobile operations in 1965, factory support disappeared but the automotive hobby support continues today. The old Chrysler Corporation absorbed AMC in 1987 and continues to support it (especially Jeep) to the extent it supports any of its 20 year old vehicles even after its 1997 "merger" with Daimler Benz.

Is the Chrysler Group going to be sold? Probably. Is "Chrysler" or "Dodge" or "Jeep" going to disappear? Since they have a large name recognition and massive infrastructure, I doubt it. Any suitor would not want to add more uncertainty, complication and expense to the purchase by also to having to design and market a whole new line of vehicles. If the new Chrysler wants to continue buying transmissions (or whatever) from its old boss, Daimler probably will not turn away business.

The only time I would semi-sincerely voice your concerns is to frighten the dealer into giving you a good deal on a new Chrysler 300.

No, because those cars are a big heaping pile of ghetto pooh! There is no refinement, and my cousin has the Limited Ed/touring model with two tone leather, navi, and all the bells and whistles. Its still looks cheap! The exterior styling, and the HEMI are the only good things about the 300. Save yourself a few bucks, and get the Charger R/T with navi, climate control,etc. Basically the same interior for a few grand cheaper, with more agressive exterior styling. Best of luck

I would not buy one if they stay Chrysler product are crap, all makers have problems but check the web on any Chrysler product the problems or like ten to one over the others.
