theyre meant to be apart but someone made a typo..haaha way of tha world

That's simple, putting apartments close together means the builder can place more buildings on a plot of land, also earn more money, for example 4 apartments on one site instead of 2 increases his bank balance, quite considerably.

To maximize the space to fit a lot of people in them. But it depends on which city or apartment you rent because their are apartments that aren't so close together.
