First, make sure that its not battery related. So charge up your ipod for a while and then see if it comes one. If not, then have a look at some troubleshooters on the web and the apple website. It might be broken and you either need to buy a new one or it may still be in warranty!

Take it to your local Ipod store.
I find that they are very fragile. I must be honest with you though. You may be better of buying a new one as repairs are labor and labor is $ which tends to ad up to the same value as buying new.

try reseting it. press and hold the top and center buttons for 5-10 seconds or the top and bottom buttons (not sure which it would be for nano)

Call apple or take it to a store if you live by one. Have you tried restarting it? that's where you press and hold the middle button down.

try putting it on the charger and if that doesnt work you have to go buy a new one.
