I'm convinced that most humans are flawed...

How many times have you been let down by people who promise you something?

Or for instance, this is a big one...

I'll often spring for lunch, or a few drinks for someone, and tell them that it is their turn next in the future to "spring" for me, however it rarely happens that you meet someone who actually keeps their word????

Just one example...

Seriously, are any of you getting sick of being a GIVER, instead of a TAKER???

It seems like the TAKERS, and LEACHES in this world, get more RESPECT, and LOVE, etc,etc...

Are you a GIVER or a TAKER...

I'm starting to see, and believe that most humans are TAKERS, and not of their word...

Rarely pay back debts, or return favours...

What is your experience with the type of things I am talking about...

I'm getting sick of promises aren't you????

I do get let down a lot of times in my life but now I think you can't really stop people letting you down. The only thing you can do is to stop expecting too much from people. When people say they are going to do something, either not expect him to keep his word or insist that he be specific with his plans and the date and time. Also, do not do everyone favours and expect them to return favours to you. Continue to treat those you love well but don't expect anything in return. Do things for them but tell yourself that it doesn't have to be reciprocal. As for people you don't really care that much about, you either stop doing them favours or learn to accept that whatever you do, you might not get anything in return.

I am a giver and will always be. I agree that most people in the world are takers. Human beings are selfish by nature. Only a few can overcome this animal instinct and do selfless things.

It's Templeton the Rat.

If you have ever read "Charlotte's Web", Templeton's big line was "What's in it for me?"

All people will disappoint; some do it frequently. I personally would rather be surprised when people come through than disappointed when tehy don't. That is why I am a cynic and I have rarely lost that bet.

Yes ,I am sick of promises that people don't keep, but some people are just not able to give or are just plain selfish. Forgive me and then write them off as useless.
