Ok, im writing a research essay that is worth over half my grade for literature. IM have a bit of trouble comeing up with a hook. The topic is about archetypes. I selceted harry potter as my exapmle as an archetype, but i dont think that is relevant to the hook. HELP?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

~whatever you do... never ever ever ever use "imagine you were...." in an essay..
(you should never use "you, we, i" in an essay)
you can use the whole "imagine" idea, only in 3rd person.

~you can start with a powerful fact that will grab the readers attention...

~also, never use a rhetorical question...
ie- "what would you do if......."
many teachers feel this is not directed to anyone in particular, thus, it is useless
