The one I always remember is photosynthesis:
In photosynthesis, C02 is reduced to sugars and O2 is oxidised to form H20
This can be reversed for the respiration equivilent.

Cu(s) + AgNO3(aq)---->Cu(NO3)2 + Ag(s)
Cu is oxidized ( at the reactant side,Cu has an oxidation # of zero but at the product side it is +2)
Ag is reduced (at reactant side Ag is +1 but at product side Ag is zero.)
