When I dream, if i get hurt in the dream I feel the pain physically and it wakes me up. The worst case was when i dreamt I broke my arm. I awoke with unbearable pain in my arm that lasted for at least ten minutes. Is this a medical thing or something else?

And by unbearable pain I mean I choked back a scream when I woke up and I had tears pouring down my face. I'm 100% sure I didn't fall asleep on my arm.

I think that it's probably the vivid-ness of the dream impacting on you physically. I have had that happen before in dreams of violence woken up with actual bruises and fingerprints in my skin.

If it worries you then I would continue on whatever course you're on to bring balance and focus into your psyche and spiritual life. When you come to a certain acceptance I believe this will probably stop itself. The dreams may still be there but you'll have more protection from them actually hurthing you. This is doubly true if the dreams are being influenced by another person.

Disclaimer: :) I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV. There may be other issues that are worth working out in therapy and a visit to a GP will certainly rule out anything physical.

Blessings,
Zimmi

What is happening is you could be sleeping on your arm or have hurt a body part earlier in the day, the pain starts then influences your dream state. Your mind feels the pain and then you dream that you've injured it.

I have had the same thing happen to me. One day I dreamt that someone was picking the skin off of my finger. Then I felt something cold trickle down my finger. When I woke up my finger was cut and bleeding. The blood was on the sheets.

I dont have a answer but I dream the same way. I feel, see, smell as if I was realy there. One time I was being attacked in my dream and when I woke up my leg was hurting in the same place i was hit and when I looked at it, it was red and scratched up, just as it was in my dream.

I think you're just inflicting pain on yourself in your sleep...either that or you sleepwalk and you keep hitting your arm on the fridge
