The Camelot Era was in the 60's when John Fitzgerald Kennedy was president of the United States. The Kennedy's were a much loved family and J.F.K was a young president that had Ideas the American people loved. All of the Kennedy's were involved in Politics from the oldest to the youngest .The Kennedy's were considered royalty and the American Equivalent of the Royalty of England.

This is the era from January 1961 to November 1963 when Pres. John F. Kennedy was in office. He was a very romantic and powerful leader and his image was that of the ideal president. He was loved, he spoke well, and he was young. The idea was that he was the ideal leader for the USA.

Of course it was only later that we learned that Kennedy's administration was filled with problems and flaws. We learned later, not only was Jackie a chain smoking elitist, but Kennedy bungled the Bay of Pigs, introduced American troops into Vietnam, this beginning the War in Vietnam and he was a horrible philanderer who wanted to have sex with every attractive (and some not so attractive) women he met. Marilyn Monroe is just the tip of the ice berg.

Later on we learned that just like Camelot and King Arthur was flawed by idealism and the image of the perfect kingdom, so Kennedy's administration was flawed. But all of this came later.
