when it comes to pests like termites that can eat up your home I don't see any middle ground. You gotta do your worst to keep a home to live in. There are natural ways to keep pests out of the garden. You can get tips from farmers almanac. One trick is to plant peppers as a barrier around the vegetables and that naturally repells bugs. You can buy bugs at nurseries that eat other bugs such as lady bugs or praying mantis insects

I know this is going to sound silly. When you get your hair cut, keep the hair, cut it into as small a length you can do and spread it around your plants, entry points and other low traffic areas where the pests can get in. I found this tip in an Organic Gardening magazine in the 70's. The pests impale themselves on the pieces of hair when they run into it, or jump onto it. It's like you and I jumping on a nail. Goes right through you.

Some pest control services are organic or environmentally friendly. I don't know what product they use. Try the Yellow Pages.

Call a pest control operator. Ants are one thing, termites are a horse of a different color.

I used to place a bowl of white vinegar by the porch to keep the flies away... seemed effective though...

Try baking soda for the ants...
