Usually you would assume 4, but I work at Publix, so it has a whole different meaning.
2+2 is a reminder for the baggers. After they are finished bagging the customers order, the bagger is to put two hands on the customers cart and take 2 steps to the door. It's a way to show the customer, that you want to help them out.
