I have 2 male rabbits, castrated. Ages 2 &3, fully innoculated, every year. Full run, of the garden, in the day. Every night, they used, to come running, to their hutch, when its feeding time. They like fruit, broccoli, carrots, cabbage. I tend, to vary, so they, don't, have the same, every night. Lately, they've, not been doing that. They look sad, they have, dried food, hay and grass, in the day. There, has been a lot, of changes, in the garden. Do you think, that is the problem.

Change can effect behaviour of rabbits but usually not to the degree that they take more than a day or two to get over it. Look at their diet and what is in the garden that they might have access to eat as some plants are toxic to rabbits. They might look sad but take note if they are lethargic and depressed if so get them checked out by a Veterinarian asap. Also Cabbage is not good for rabbits as it causes bloating and even death, this might be a reason for their sad behaviour as they are feeling bloated. Also beware of Mixo as there are many symptoms of this but no cure. Hope I have helped.

I have had rabbits for many years and they don't adapt well to a change in diet. Some rabbits do well with rabbit pellets but do best when started young. At their age perhaps you should put back your garden to the way it was, or at least a part of it.There might also be something in or near their hutch that frightens them(like snakes). Check out the area around it. If that doesn't help a trip to the vet might be in order.

What changes in the garden?
You know that rabbits are very sensitive to chemicals and get sick and die easily from pesticides and fertalizers.
Stress of changes can be the problem too.
I think it's a matter of them becoming a little wild. If you aren't taking time with them anymore, and letting them alone more, they are "forgetting" that you are a friend.
They feel safe in the yard, and are starting to fear you, so they don't come when called anymore.
What to do?
Bribe them with food. They only get the yummy treats when they come when called.
"Predator proof" your yard and let them be. As long as they are safe, healthy and happy, there is no reason they have to be caged.

It could be possible that they are having a stressful time adjusting to the changes in the garden. Either that or maybe they are sick or have worms or something? Or maybe something attacked them. Give them a day or two, and if they still have a loss of appetite and energy, then take them to the vet. Good luck!

Is there any way that any other animal could get into the garden? There might be something that is scaring them. They also may be sick or just stressed about the changes to the garden.

They may be stressed due to changes but I would consider keeping them inside, I have 4 house rabbits that are all litterbox trained and have full run of the house that way I dont have to worry about predators eating or injurying them. check out http://www.rabbit.org/ for more info on rabbits

Check their front teeth! They may be overgrown and will interfere with their eating. The vet can clip them, after that make sure they have a wood block from the pet shop to gnaw on.
