why do people even compare kobe to mj?

Statisticly speaking Kobe is better at this age then MJ. As for the better teamate part, any ESPN special you watch about MJ reviels that his teamates hated playing with him but sucked it up because of the rings, people like cartwright, longly, hodges, and even pippen all publicly complained that jordan constantly berated them for not playing to his expectations. Who has complained about playing with kobe? only Shaq who still complains about him, and cant seem to let the past go. Odom, horry, even fisher all have stated how great of a teamate kobe was. Is Kobe better then MJ, not right now but let see in about 5-6 years when Kobe hits the downside of his career, he has already broken records that MJ could never touch, The only thing that seperates the two is RING count, but that is a one sided battle since people belive that jordan won those single handedly and Kobes dont count because it was "Shaq's team". Reailty check... even D-Fisher has three rings we dont discount his do we? so how can we discount kobes? Shaq would not have won those title in L.A. without kobe, it's a team game. The Lakers have a young and very talented team led by Kobe, with teams like the Spurs and Mavs getting older it my soon be the Lake show's time again so discount Kobe reaching the mark.

because people are stupid. people think that scoring is everything. kobe never passes and isnt nearly as good on D as mj. if you put kobe in the 90's he wouldnt be anything. the 90's had too many good players. mj was the best in the game during the era with the most talent the late 80's early 90's. you have to look at who they are playing

Kobe actually averages more assists at 28 then MJ did at 28!

Cause people dont know what they are talkin about.MJ was a better team player,passer,rebounder,shooter,defensive player,and was more clutch than kobe and he will always have more rings than kobe and MJ would have a couple more rings if he hadn't retired and then came back.

look at it this way. kobe and jordan all shoot. JOrdan was averaging like 35 points a game and kobe waws averaging 34.2 last season. They can both really dunk and they are awesome at the free throw line. kobe is like 85%. kobe can pass, his teamates cant shoot. kobe averages like 6 rebounds a game which is pretty good for 6'6.
