The best way to find a lodge is to look in the phone book or go online most states have contact for the local lodge or you can call the state (grand) lodge and they can point you in the right direction. Women cannot join a regular lodge but they can join Eastern Star, or Amanrath if they have a proper male relation.

I am a Freemason. Any non-atheists can join. They just need to ask. It is against the rules for a Mason to ask you to join recruiting in any way is against the rules.
But Boys join the boy scouts girls join the girl scouts. Men join the masons ladies join the eastern star. There is also a group called co-masonry this group allows women to join. Although this group shares the word masonry in it's same it seem to be different. Masonry teaches you to be a better person through close friendships with good people and charitable work. Also freemasonry teaches moral lessons through rituals and ceremonies. From what i can find out co-masonry seems to focus on the ritual.

Females cannot join, however, wives, sisters, mothers, sisters in law, and mothers in law of masons can join the Order of the Eastern Star.
