Although he wrote one of his books on philosophy -addressing idealism & dangers of transcendental philosophy-
Dietrich Bonhoeffer is more known as a great theologian & lecturer , as well as pastor . Some might call him a martyr for his beliefs , for going back to Germany to be with his people , to take part in the reconstruction of Germany , once Hitler was "removed" . . He was forbidden to speak in public ; and later imprisoned in Tegel military prison from 1943-44, for speaking against Adolf Hitler's policies .. While in prison , Bonhoeffer was discovered to have participated in an earlier plot against Hitler . Up until then he had hopes of being freed . Taken to Flossenburg concentration camp in April 1945 , Bonhoeffer was executed .
