My 97 chrysler seabring didn't pass the emision inpection because the check engine light was on and when the mechanic check it he sead that he could not communicate with the computer what could be the couse of this, malfuntion aparently the computer is working becouse is detecting a Problem. no automechanic that I have gone to has being able to fix it. thank you. I am from Holyoke Ma. zip code 01040

There is a KNOWN issue with some Chrysler Corp. PCM communication failures.
The only thing you can do is to make an appointment with the dealer's service center.
They will need toe car for at least the day (maybe longer) and they will correct the issue.
The good news is that if there isn't too many miles on the car, this MAY NOT cost you anything, or maybe just a little, as this could be classified an emissions failure.

If you have gone to several mechanics and none could find the problem, I 'd say find a REAL mechanic. You probably have a open circuit from the computer to the scanner, because several have been tried, and they all , the scanners, can't be malfunctioning. Also could be a corroded terminal where the scanner plugs in. These guys didn't try very hard, or didn't know what to do for a "No Communication" problem.

find new mechanic..Advance will check for free...maybe u need new computer
