In short and in my opinion - The scientific method. But is an answer ever so simple?
If your speaking philosophically, many philosophers in the past have argued that truth is a matter of perspective. That even "facts" can be questioned since human knowledge is fallible, as a result we can't be sure of anything.
Rejecting this view, we can assume that there is an absolute truth, for just as many philosophers have argued for absolutism.
There are many ways of attempting to discover truth or fact, such as foundationalism (a "family tree" approach to knowledge, in which one fact creates multiple facts) or coherentism (a circular approach in which one possible fact is true of it makes sense in regard to several other relevant facts.)
If speaking scientifically, the best tool we have today of discovering fact or truth is by the Scientific Method. It can be applied in many areas of life, not just science. By relying on this method and previous facts supported by it, we can evaluate present "truths" for validity. But while it maybe the best method, its not perfect...
But unlike philosophical community, the scientific community is consensuses in it's method of fact finding. For this reason alone, I would choose the scientific method as the best if I had to choose.

Camus' theory of absurdity.
There is no answer to questions like 'What is the truth' when it comes to things like the meaning of life. There is no point in asking 'Why are we here?' because you are never going to get an answer.
The concept is, according to Camus, absurd. And I agree with him.
We should just enjoy our lives and continue living and loving.
