Some companies do charge a slightly higher rate for having a fireplace. Every company is different so I'm not sure there is anywhere you can go for info. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Take care,

Generally, the insurance quotes I got when I was looking at a home with a fireplace were higher than the quotes I got on a house that didn't have one. I would also check to see what possible damages caused by the fireplace would be covered under your policy.
The house we got didn't have a fireplace, but it did have solar panels. The homeowners insurance companies that I called all said that they do not cover roof/water damage if the cause could be traced to the solar panel. So, I'd check to see about coverage of the chiminey etc.

Also, if the house has a basement, get complete coverage there. Where we live, I had to purchase extra insurance to cover the basement and its contents.

I have lived in my home for 11 years. It was not new when I purchased it, but it does have a fireplace. I do not recall any added insurance due to having a fireplace. Laws may vary by state and insurance companies.
