Yetserday i was unfortunate to be caught up in the aftermath of the accident on the M25. The attitude of almost all of the other motorists in the same situation was diabolical.
Selfish, self centred, inconsiderate, rude, there were very few exceptions.
The flow of traffic was hampered by these actions, what is your problem in the south.
I would have placed this in the motoring section but it has nothing to do with cars, it is the drivers at fault.

I think it's a general lack of love and respect for other people. Anyone who has a bit of love of fellow human beings and some decency would not behave in the way you described. I think it is an inevitable result of the ME culture where everyone thinks he's the most important person in the world and thinks everyone else is taking advantage of him.

I completely agree with you. Close to where I live we have had two fatalities in two weeks within 200 yards of each other - and the Police signs saying 'Fatal Collision' are still up. Despite this some complete **** overtook me on a bend - right by the fatal collision sign, and all the flowers that had been left. I could see the oncoming cars in the other lane so I just held my hand on my horn. I ended up jamming on my brakes because otherwise he wouldn't have got back in lane in time. I was already doing the maximum speed (60) allowed for that road and yet the self-centred idiot obviously thought he could go faster. The sooner they put speed cameras up the better. It's the only thing that makes people slow down short of a permanent police presence.

Well it was AOK until about 30 years ago. Then this thing called the M5 opened.

Life hasn't been the same since!

All these aggressive northern loonies could get to us in two hours, overcrowd our roads & threaten us for getting in their way. I've heard they even caused accidents due to a sort of inferiority complex.

Sorry mate, but if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined...

How were they self-centred and rude? Why are you from somewhere else in the universe? Not excusing them but it sounds like you have more of a problem with folk and maybe need to lighten up.

You're going to hear from a ton of Americans from southern states about this.

They're not prone to thinking of othe countries as having "southern" regions, and they're going to take offense to the notion that they may be worse drivers than those d**n Yankees.

Just thought you might like the warning.

There are just too many of us on the roads! Still, I'm from Essex too but I think it's better to be stuck behind an accident than to be in the accident.

Nobody told you that dodgem rules apply on the M25 after a crash? It is not limited to the south of England at all. It happens everywhere.

well i live in the south and have to deal with traffic and rude drivers and plenty of car accidents every day during my route to and from work every day here in dallas, texas. we sort of have friendly drivers, but these days everyone is too busy talking on their cell phones to be paying close attention to their driving. here you need to drive both offensively and defensively and pray to GOD every time you get in the car that you will be safe and out of harm's way. driving here in dallas is no worse than other states, i don't think.

Traffic problems can all be summed up with the usual: old people, stupid people, and people who have absolutely nothing better to do than to drive real slow and admire the scenery instead of watching the road.
