ok, i don't mind straight people going into gay venues, i know its about equality and everything else. i have loads of straight mates who love coming out on the scene. the people i mean are the groups of straight lads who have no tolerance whatsoever for gay people. what is the point of them going into a gay venue, i just don't get it!

Are you trying to say that you've NEVER gone into a straight bar?
Come on, get over it. If they're respectful and aren't there just to cause trouble...who cares?
Maybe they like the music, maybe they don't want to be around clingy members of the opposite sex, maybe they enjoy the entertainment offered, maybe they're there with a gay friend?
Why don't you ASK the next straight person you see in a gay bar why they're there. I'm sure you'll get a wide array of responses.

Sorry, this question just reminded me of a friend of mine. She went into a gay bar, had no idea it was a gay bar (Honestly, Alli . . . there's one gay bar in all of town, you've heard it referred to more than once by our friends, and you still don't know it when you walk into it?), and was getting hit on by this really hot girl all night . . . totally clueless . . . it was so hilarious. Finally I took pity on her, went up, and quietly told her admirer that she was straight.
I'd say some people just don't know. Others just want to cause trouble . . . others are there for fun or with friends . . . it varies.

OK I cross dress, before i dared to go out, i used to go to gay bars to see what they were like, ready for coming out? That could be it. Or they like the music, or they take their girl friends there because it is better to see a girl than a man hit on your girl friend

I was 23 and I went to a restaurant in London with my girlfriend and only later I noticed it was a gay/lesbian restaurant... nice food, but heavy atmosphere!
We shall not do it again!

where i live st8 people goes to gay bars because beer is cheaper...... for example.... in a normal bar a beer is..... 2 dollars.... in some gay bars is 50 cents
