i know what causes it to jump (light and heat) but y does it jump???

The thing that makes these beans jump is a tiny moth larvae that lives inside the bean. The moth lays its eggs in the flower of the plant, and the eggs are incorporated into the seeds. The larvae then eat out the interior of the bean and live there. When the larvae move, so does the bean. Eventually, the larvae turn into moths that emerge from the beans to repeat the cycle.

Because they're not actually beans.
They're moth eggs.
There are baby moths inside the eggs that fly around when heated up, causing the beans to jump.

In mexico, they go crazy for these things.

because they r not accually beans they are larva, that wiggle a lot or "jump" and if wou open one there is a baby moth in them

there is an insect larvae inside and when irritated it moves suddenly making the bean move, sometimes quite rapidly
