last monday i went into hospital because i was having crippling stomach pains at only 33 weeks. anyway, after keeping me waiting for FOUR hours, a 'doctor' finally came in and gave me the worlds worst internal exam ever. when i told her it hurt she wouldn't stop and ever since i've been having really bad pelvic pains. started off just as aching, and i assumed it was a normal thing from the internal (never evn had a smear test b4!). i have midwife's tomorrow so i can ask her, i just wondered if anyone else had had this aching pain before? or if its a bad sign of something?

Pelvic pains are very common and usually nothing to worry about. Your body is producing relaxin and causing your pelvis to open up.
I have had pelvis aching on and off and had some quite bad pelvis pain at around 30 weeks.
You might be developing symphasis pubic disfunction which is pretty common in late pregnancy. But hopefully it's just your pelvis opening up and won't develop into spd as that's pretty horrible.
I wouldn't have thought it was anything to do with your internal exam other than you presumably had your legs open for it and that would have put some stress on your pelvis. I found I got bad pelvis pain after sex, which I think is just because of the open legs things (sorry if tmi!!)

Hey, I suffered a miscarriage about 13 yrs ago. Started kind of like menstral pains, anyway, got pregnant the second time and had a lot of pelvic pain through out. My doctor told me that it was growing pains. It is very normal and natural to feel these pains, especially if it is your first baby or a very large baby. As the baby grows it causes your pelvis (along with other things) to begin to stretch, this is where the pain comes from, I don't think you have anything to worry about, and if you were experiencing premature labor your would probably have some spotting and at 33 weeks the baby would be very viable (meaning live outside the womb) by now. Hope this helps.

That sounds like you had a horrible experience and I would defiantly tell your midwife tomorrow. She should have been more gentle. Your muscles could be stretched. Pregnant women tend to over stretch muscles. Good luck and I hope you don't have to see that woman ever again.
