Definetly cable. Both me and my friend have wireless, and its SUCH a pain. We constantly have to reconnect the signals and sometimes it just plain dosent work. Upstairs our roomates have cable, and it is FLAWLESS and way faster. Definitely go for the cable, even if you have to drill a hole in your wall.

Ethernet will be faster, if you decide to pull the cable buy the proper cat5 jack so it looks nice. You might want to pull a cable and telephone line at the same time if you don't have them already.

drill the hole, wireless can be a pain in the **** sometimes, with the hole all you'd need is spackle when you move out, also it's better if you're a serious video gamer

I should say : take the wlan alternative, same result less effort and a whole in the wall dont look nice.
