There's a movie made by the company "Feature Films for Families." The plot is VERY similar to Beauty and the Beast (with a little Phantom of the Opera mixed in). The girl is too young to fall in love with the guy (Cuz that would be sick) but it's about a girl who meets a deformed ugly guy who is aweful, but she discovers (brings out) his hidden kindness. Trust me, if you can find it, you will see a strong resemblance to Beauty and the Beast. Got some beautiful music in it too.

There's a Japanese drama that fits your description. It's called Densha Otoko (Train Man) and is about a nerdy nice guy who doesn't know how to act around women. One day while he was on the train, there was a drunk man who was bothering everybody and one beautiful woman in particular. The nice guy, for the first time in his life, stood up to the drunk and got into a fight with him, which was eventually broken up by the conductor. Later, the woman thanked the nice guy, and they exchanged addresses with each other. To show her gratitude, she sent him an expensive Hermes tea set. Not knowing what to do and what such a gift meant, he went online and asked a message board for advice. They said he should give her a call and ask her out...and so the story continues....
This is a good drama if you have the chance to watch it, and it's supposed to be a true story.
