Racism isn't an attribute my friend though it is ugly as you rightly mention......
Look at things this way.....we are all humans, cut us and we bleed no matter what the colour of our skin, the shape of our eyes or the language that we speak......we all hurt when people say cruel things about us so really we are all pretty much equal....
Try the Golden Rule that Christ lay down for us which is to treat others as we would like to be treated.......Be nice to others and on the whole it will be reciprocated (returned), politeness will be returned like for like as will kindness and respect.....Not everyone will appreciate your efforts but that is to be expected as many people are wary of others possibly due to a bad experience or maybe they have grown up learning to distrust or even hate others from a different race or culture.......Be persistant with your efforts and they will eventually pay off....You have come a long way already by recognising you have a problem and wanting to adjust your way of thinking.....

Just go and talk to People of different cultures and keep an open mind. Hang out with non-racist people. After a while you will be better able to assess different cultures good and bad points without prejudice.
I suppose Im lucky in terms of overcoming any of my own prejudices, because where I work most people have a different skin colour to myself. You find in those sort of situations you couldnt care less what colour someone is-its getting along and getting the job done thats important.

Recently, I saw a story on the Dr. Phil show about a white man who was raised by racist parents. He often said horrible things about Black people that he was taught by his parents. However his daughter was expecting a bi-racial baby and he wanted to make sure that he didn't hurt his own grandchild with the things that he said.
Dr. Phil arranged for him to spend a day with a black family, which included going to church and having dinner at their home. He saw first hand that all the things he had been taught were wrong.
Look up Dr. Phil's website www.drphil.com
Catch yourself thinking racist thoughts, then try to find out the facts about it. Good luck.

Erm make friends with someone who you would normally discriminate against, then you will have kinda obligation to not be racist, otherwise your friend will be pissed off and then you lose friend (which is meant to be undesirable...)
I only be racist to the ones who demonstrate themselves negatively toward you... but their generally racist back to me primarily. But in their case they can call me milky all they want and the police won't give a crap, yet if i utter the words milkchocolate then i get totally fined.... unfair society so its good to lose racism, good on the wallet anyway.
But I know a lot of good people, of groups I used to discriminate against, It was wrong to be like that and I'm kinda glad I got over it and made friends.

Read the story in the Bible about Jesus and the Samaritan woman (Luke 4?)
Jews were not to speak to Samaritans, but Jesus went out of his way to go to the well and ask her for a drink and tell her about the living water. He made it a point to tell her he knew about her life and her 5+ husbands. She tried to turn it into a race issue and he turned it back by saying anyone who receives the Messiah can have eternal, living water. He showed her that God cares about all people, no matter their race or what they have done. Good luck.

I am not a racist when we are harmony with peace together.
Same old rule: Do not fire upon unless you are been fired!
When other race tries to be funny with other races, I will then be an extreme racist to stop it because it's dangerous and it could lead social disintegration.
Have more friends whom U are extremly racist with till they become your closest friends and your racism will be gone. Perhap, racist female might accelerate your problem solving.
Believe it or not? I don't know. Racism is not my problem. hee hee...

like the preacher said this morning in church:
we are all going to be together in HEAVEN one day, so we might as well all start getting along down here on earth, now.
GOD loves all of us, regardless of our origin and backgrounds. GOD sees no color, only HIS children whom he deeply loves and cherishes. HE died on the cross for our sins. to be racist, is sinful. please repent and seek salvation from your local church and bible. praise you for your insight on your racist side. you are probably a good person, but society has brainwashed us into sticking by our own people and casting out the others. thank goodness GOD did not see us all as no good misfits whom HE could never love or want. I PRAISE GOD THAT WE ARE ALL FORGIVEN OF OUR SINS. amen.
