The embouchure used are completely different. When playing trumpet you are using more of you lips where a sax is using more of the lower lip. It shouldn't change that much. If you want to keep your high notes pick up a trumpet once in a while and just blow high notes to keep your chops fresh.

Good Luck, i want to commend you on finally seeing the light and coming too it. Saxes rock!

No it won't. I played alto sax for 2 years, switched to trumpet, then back to alto for another 2 years. Over that time period, my range did not change. Even if you are changing to Tenor sax, if any change occurs, it will be very little. I hope this answered your question, but that is just how it was with me! :)

Vocally? absolutely not. You WILL have a different range on the tenor sax than you do on the trumpet.

The embouchure's are completely different, so one won't effect the other. I can play both, and have never seen a difference in the range on my trumpet or trombone.
