You don't.

They're probably moving for a good reason. If your relationship was meant to last it would.

It might be tough, but get used to the idea.

If someone is moving away from choice, then it will be easier to convince them. You can tell this person how much you will miss them, or how much fun you had. Talk to the parents, and ask them if they absolutely have to move away. They will get annoyed though, if you keep asking. But, if this is for a job, or something that has to be done, you should just accept it and move on. Say goodbye, and try to make new friends, because you probably won't change this person's mind that way. Don't forget that you still can email and write to this person, and try not to give them a hard time, because they probably don't want to move, but will have to for the best. You should encourage that.

Oh I've had the same experience. It's hard if they've already made up their mind, but good things can come from them moving away. I mean my best friend moved and now we're bf/gf. But hopefully it's a short term moving away instead of a long term. Try persuading and use evidence as to why it would be a bad idea.

If I were you I would try and talk the person that is moving away into staying. If the person does move away tell them that you will miss them very much.

Well why are they moving? And were? It depends if its close or far. But when someone moves, it always hurts. Sorry.

If their family is moving, about all you can do is elope. Then everything becomes your problem. Think of the corollary: How can you get your family to follow?

Its not a good idea to even try, if they are under age they don't have a choice, if they are adults they will hate you for it. Wish them well and keep in touch.

If you love them, set them free.

Be glad for e-mail and cell phones. People have to live their own lives. You do, too.
