Ignore the LSD studies part. LOL I don't really buy it either, but I don't know that much about it. Just wanting to get other peoples' points of view.

Deep regressive psychotherapies aim to uncover repressed experience. But they frequently misunderstand psychoanalytic theory about repression: it is not memories of actual past events that get repressed, but current affect and emotion.
Unfortunately, therapies such as "Primal" therapy have contributed to people developing false memories, and their ideas about maternal stress "causing" homosexuality lack any objective verification.
The is, however, a prenatal mechanism involved in a male subsequently becoming homo rather than heterosexual: birth order studies have confirmed this. But this is a long way from objectively confirming "maternal stress" interpreted from a regressing client as causative.

Since the articles relies heavily on regressive and primal therapies, I would not place that much weight on these theories.
Virtually all studies on homosexuality causation have shown a biological factor, and although it is possible for a mother's stress to influence hormonal levels in a developing fetus, there have been many more studies linking these biological causes to genetics. These genetic factors are not linked to a single gene but to a wider spectrum of genetic makeup causing a certain sexual orientation.

According to Frank Lake, "The focus for psychopathology is....the first trimester of intrauterine life." If this is so, and one possible result is homosexuality of the unborn child, then the conclusion follows that homosexuality is a psychopathology. I can accept that elevated levels of maternal stress can trigger harmful hormonal imbalances in the fetal brain, causing many different psychopathologies - including homosexuality.

I don't consider it a valid "theory". At least, I haven't seen enough study and evidence to prove that there's anything valid about it.

Oh man, that's depressing. To imagine me causing stress in the womb. That's all I have to say about that.
